About Traceroute
Traceroute shows the path that network packets take from our server to the target host.
Metrics
- Hop - hop number
- RTT - round-trip time
- * - request timeout
Note
Some routers may not respond to traceroute requests or block them.
How does Traceroute work?

Packets are sent with incrementing TTL (Time To Live)

Each router sends ICMP message when TTL reaches 0

Complete route to destination is built from replies
