After discovering a critical zero-day or N-day vulnerability in widely-used software (e.g., Log4j, vulnerability in a popular web server version), the Center needed immediate and accurate assessment of the global scale of the problem. The Center deployed ScaniteX for instant, global internet space scanning. Specialists quickly configured ScaniteX to search for specific ports and identify software versions associated with the recently discovered vulnerability. Thanks to ScaniteX's capabilities of scanning 1K+ requests per second and automatic identification of over 2000 service types in real-time, the team was able to quickly obtain the necessary data.
